 Yang Guo is our central character. He doesn’t know his father and become an orphan after his mother’s death. He is a cheerful and energetic boy, but also has a wild temper.
At the age of 13, Yang Guo meets the famous Kung-Fu master, Guo Jing. Although Guo Jing seems to know about Yang Guo’s father, he only tells him that his father was a very strong fighter, and never tells him anything more.
To become a strong Kung-Fu fighter like his father, Yang Guo learns All True Religion Kung-Fu and Old Tomb School Kung-Fu.
While he learns Kung-Fu techniques under Xiao Long Nu, the heiress of Old Tomb School Kung-Fu, he gradually falls in love with her. His talent for Kung-Fu and handsome face are inherited from his father. He grows up to be a very valiant man.
A mysterious bird called “God Bird” teaches him secret Kung-Fu techniques and Yang Guo becomes the famous top Kung-Fu master no other fighters can match
He defeats Genghis Khan and sends the Mongolian army away from China. |

Yang Guo:
Yang Guo is the main character of the series. Meeting well-developed characters with interesting and powerful personalities, and learning various Kung-Fu skills, he becomes the undisputed master of the martial art.
Once he falls in love with Xiao Long Nu, he decides to live in honor of their love, overcoming various hardships and unfortunate events.

Xiao Long Nu:
Xiao Long Nu lives in a huge underground imperial tomb as the heiress of Old Tomb School’s Kung-Fu. She is very beautiful, but never shows her feelings because Old Tomb School’s Kung-Fu fighters aren’t allowed to let their feelings show.
When she falls in love with Yang Guo, Xiao Long Nu struggles over her choice-to remain as Kung-Fu heiress, or to leave her position for her beloved Yang Guo.

Guo Jing:
Guo Jing is a famous Kung-Fu master. He takes Yang Guo back to Cherry Island after he has been wounded when trying to save Guo Jing’s daughter from Li Mo Chou’s attack.
Guo Jing actually had a close connection with Yang Guo’s father: Yang Guo’s father Yang Kang was an evil man who betrayed friends, masters and even his country for his own interests. Guo Jing was forced to kill Yang Kang for the sake of their country. Although Guo Jing and Yang Kang eventually became enemies, they were also very good friends, so it was extremely painful for Guo Jing to kill him. By way of atonement, Guo Jing decides to take care of Yang Guo, who has grown up to closely resemble his father...
Huang Rong:
Huang Rong is Guo Jing’s clever wife, and is also a strong female Kung-Fu fighter.
For some reason, she hates Yang Guo’s father. So she never trusts Yang Guo and objects to teaching him Kung-Fu lessons.

Li Mo Chou:
Li Mo Chou used to learn Old Tomb School’s Kung-Fu with Xiao Long Nu as a fellow pupil, but she fell in love with a man and broke the rules by leaving the school for him. Soon after, their love affair ended in catastrophe. After that, she became an evil Kung-Fu fighter.
Li Mo Chou comes back to the underground imperial tomb to steal its secret heirloom letter of Kung-Fu techniques.
Guo Fu:
Guo Fu is Guo Jing’s older daughter.
Although somewhat attracted to Yang Guo, she is always very hard on him and leads him into difficult situations.
Guo Sheng:
Guo Sheng is Guo Jing’s younger daughter.
Unlike her selfish sister, she is very kind and sweet. She likes Yang Guo very much and always follows him.
Au Yang Feng:
Au Yang Feng is a heavy drinker and has lost his mind to wandering. However, it turns out that he’s actually a very strong master, who teaches Yang Guo Kung-Fu lessons for the first time. |
